Volunteer: Writer:
(Want ad): Real Ideas Studio Inc., a non-profit organization, is currently looking for a volunteer writer who would be responsible for creating individual, as well as general, messaging for obtaining corporate sponsors, individual sponsors, and prospective student participants. Candidate must have messaging and writing experience, with an understanding for the pursuit of corporate sponsorship in the non-profit sect. Candidate must be able to provide their work to RIS in a timely manner, with attention to detail and deadlines, and have the ability to relay communications to RIS Board Members as needed. Ideal candidate holds, or is in the process of obtaining their Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English literature, or related disciplines. The time commitment to RIS would be 10 hours weekly, done remotely. Volunteer: Contact Data Administrator:
(Want ad): Real Ideas Studio Inc., a non-profit organization, is currently looking for a Data Administrator volunteer, who would be responsible for managing and inputting pre-existing, as well as new, contact data into the RIS system. The Contact Data Administrator manages contact data on a regular basis, and is responsible for maintaining the RIS contacts for currency and accuracy. The Contact Data Administrator may also be requested to assist in the sourcing of new contacts. Candidate must have administration experience, with an understanding for the pursuit of corporate sponsorship in the non-profit sect. Candidate must be Excel proficient, with attention to detail and deadlines, and have the ability to relay communications to RIS Board Members as needed. Ideal candidate holds, or is in the process of obtaining their Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English literature, business management, or related disciplines. The time commitment to RIS would be 10 hours weekly, done remotely. (Want Ad): Real Ideas Studio Inc., a non-profit organization, is currently looking for Contact Data Manager and Contact Procurement volunteers, who would be responsible for procuring and managing new contacts. Managers will have specific focus on the procurement of premier contacts for the purpose of broadening RIS awareness, and driving student participation. Candidate must have administration experience, with an understanding for the pursuit of brand awareness in the non-profit and educational sects. Candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must be Excel proficient, with attention to detail and deadlines, and have the ability to relay communications to RIS Board Members as needed. Ideal candidate holds, or is in the process of obtaining their Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business management, or related disciplines. The time commitment to RIS would be 10 hours weekly, done remotely. Volunteer: Design Team Member; Web and Newsletters:
(Want Ad): Real Ideas Studio Inc., a non-profit organization, is currently looking for a Design Team Member volunteer, who would be responsible for organizing RIS assets, such as logos and photos. The Design Team is responsible for storing assets on drives and in a reliable online location. The Design Team Member volunteers have skills in design layout, creation, and web materials, as well as the ability to craft a RIS Newsletter, with provided content, to be issued once monthly. Candidate must have an attention to detail and deadlines, and have the ability to relay communications to RIS Board Members as needed. Ideal candidate has a minimum of two years of experience with web design and support. The time commitment to RIS would be 5 hours weekly, done remotely. Communication Outreach Manager candidate must have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be self motivated to continue to maintain communications, and act as a hub for RIS members and affiliates. Ideal Candidate will have an understanding for the pursuit of brand awareness in the non-profit and educational sects. 60 One Minutes (SOM) is an open, creative call to action for people around the world to create one minute videos that highlight a cause, initiate action and inspire others to do the same.
SOM is currently supporting World Wildlife Fund's (WWF) Earth Hour. On March 28, 2009 at 8:30 p.m., local time, World Wildlife Fund is asking individuals, businesses, governments and organizations around the world to turn off their lights for one hour -- Earth Hour -- to make a global statement of concern about climate change and to demonstrate their commitment to finding solutions. Turn out. Take action. Because a small change made by many people can make a huge difference in addressing climate change.
SOM is asking for submissions of one minute videos from everyone interested in addressing the negative effect conventional electricity has on climate change. Most electricity is made from burning coal, so every time you power up, coal is burned, CO2 is released and damage is done to the environment. The response had been tremendous but we still need more!

Real Ideas Studio (RIS) seeks emerging filmmakers for its global Microgrants Program. RIS is offering $500 to produce films within different regions of the world for a screening at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. Films must be originated and completed fully within the grant period and amount by May 01, 2009. RIS will be designated as the Production company of the film, and a RIS mentor will advise the film and be credited as a Producer of the project.
Real Ideas Studio (RIS) produces films that explore significant perspectives and reflect the culture in which they are made. Films that approach international local and/or regional viewpoints are encouraged. Our films consider actuality over fiction and are therefore more documentary in nature; however, we encourage the limits of dramatic and visual creativity within this genre. Our grant amount is flat, and films are expected to be around five minutes in total length.
Real Ideas Studio is a global collaborative that mentors creative arts programs within culturally-diverse environments. The program has run filmmaking programs at the last three Cannes Film Festivals, and we most recently completed a very successful filmmaking program at the 2009 Slamdance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, during the Sundance Film Festival
